Occupational Vision Screening Refresher Course

PURPOSE

This refresher course in occupational vision screening is hosted by Eduplex Training Institute (ETI), in collaboration with Education for Health Africa (EFHA). The refresher course is designed for those who already completed a formal occupational vision screening course and is certified as an a Vision Screener Practitoner or an Assistant Vision Screener.

This 8-hour course aims to build and enhance your competence in conducting safe and quality-assured occupational vision screening aligned with SAQA Unit Standard 116505.

TRAINING AVAILABLE

Training is available as a online training format or onsite in-person training.

Online training consist out of an 8-hour facilitator-led  session.

Onsite training consists out of online pre-reading theory and a one-day onsite, in-person training in Queenswood, Pretoria.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Vision Screening Practitioner:

  • Certificate of Competence in Occupational Vision Screening
  • Certified as an Occupational Vision Screening Practitioner

Vision Screening Assistant:

  • Certificate of Competence in Occupational Vision Screening
  • Certified as an Occupational Vision Screening Assistant

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates as a Vision Screening Practitioner will be able to:

  • Perform vision screening equipment quality assurance and quality control tasks
  • Prepare for and conduct a vision test
  • Evaluate the validity of the vision test results
  • Interpret the vision screening test results
  • Record and report the vision screening test results
  • Manage the vision screening results

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates as a Vision Screening Assistant will be able to:
 

  • Perform vision screening equipment quality assurance and quality control tasks
  • Prepare for and conduct a vision test
  • Evaluate the validity of the vision test results

CERTIFICATION

On successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.
