A 16-hour refresher by Eduplex Training Institute and Education for Health Africa, for certified Spirometry Practitioners and Assistant Spirometrists who want to strengthen competence against current best practice.

Purpose

This refresher course in occupational screening spirometry is hosted by Eduplex Training Institute (ETI), in collaboration with Education for Health Africa (EFHA). The course is designed for those who have already completed a formal occupational screening spirometry course and who are certified as a Spirometry Practitioner or Assistant Spirometrist.

This 16-hour course aims to build and enhance your competence and skills to perform, interpret, and manage spirometry screening tests according to best practice.

Spirometry Practitioners

  • Certificate of Competence in Occupational Screening Spirometry
  • Certified as a Spirometry Practitioner

Assistant Spirometrists

  • Certificate of Competence in Occupational Screening Spirometry
  • Certified as an Assistant Spirometrist

Learning Outcomes

Spirometry Practitioner

  • Perform spirometry quality assurance and quality control tasks
  • Prepare for and conduct a spirometry test
  • Evaluate the validity of the spirometry test results
  • Interpret the spirometry test results
  • Record and report the spirometry test results
  • Manage spirometry data

Assistant Spirometrist

  • Perform spirometry quality assurance and quality control tasks
  • Prepare for and conduct a spirometry test

Certification
