Occupational Vision Screening Refresher Course

An 8-hour refresher by Eduplex Training Institute and Education for Health Africa, for certified Vision Screening Practitioners and Assistants who want to stay aligned with SAQA Unit Standard 116505.

Purpose

This refresher course in occupational vision screening is hosted by Eduplex Training Institute (ETI), in collaboration with Education for Health Africa (EFHA). The refresher course is designed for those who have already completed a formal occupational vision screening course and are certified as a Vision Screener Practitioner or an Assistant Vision Screener.

This 8-hour course aims to build and enhance your competence in conducting safe and quality-assured occupational vision screening aligned with SAQA Unit Standard 116505.

Learning Outcomes

Vision Screening Practitioner

  • Perform vision screening equipment quality assurance and quality control tasks
  • Prepare for and conduct a vision test
  • Evaluate the validity of the vision test results
  • Interpret the vision screening test results
  • Record and report the vision screening test results
  • Manage the vision screening results

Vision Screening Assistant

  • Perform vision screening equipment quality assurance and quality control tasks

Certification

On successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance.
